The Brockville Police Service says a major drug trafficking investigation has led to the arrest of eight people and the interception of drugs and firearms.
The investigation, dubbed “Project Arlington,” began in the fall of 2024 in conjunction with the Gananoque Police Service.
Project Arlington was designed to arrest people involved in violent criminal networks and disrupt locally focused drugs distribution networks, a news release from Brockville police says.
The investigation led to more than 50 criminal charges and the seizure of over 2.5 kilograms of cocaine, 32 grams of suspected crystal meth and over 1,800 meth tablets.
Other seized items include:
- 250 hydrocodone tablets
- 227 oxycodone tablets
- 10 suspected fentanyl tablets
- 600g of MDMA
- 198g of Psilocybin mushrooms
- 187 Clonazepam tablets
- One restricted loaded handgun
- Four long guns
- Over $100,000.00 in proceeds of crime
The suspects face numerous charges, including possession for the purposes of trafficking, unauthorized possession of a firearm and possession of proceeds of crime, among others.
The suspects were not named.
The Ontario Provincial Police, Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) and local police in Cornwall and Smiths Falls also assisted in the investigation.
