Tractor driver charged in September fatal motorcycle crash south of Pembroke, Ont.

Ontario Provincial Police have charged a 64-year-old man in connection to a fatal motorcycle crash near Pembroke, Ont. last September.

Police were called to a two-vehicle collision involving a motorcycle and a farm tractor on Highway 41 at Walsh Road in North Algona Wilberforce on Sept. 26, 2024 at 4 p.m.

The motorcycle rider, a 76-year-old man from Renfrew, was taken to hospital by ambulance and died a short time later.

The driver of the tractor was not injured.

Last Tuesday, officers charged a 64-year-old man of North Algona Wilberforce with careless driving causing death under the Highway Traffic Act.

He is scheduled to appear in court in Pembroke next month.

The crash site is located approximately 140 kilometres northwest of Ottawa.
