Shots fired at Elmvale Acres Shopping Centre, Ottawa councillor says

The Ottawa Police Service’s Guns and Gangs Unit is investigating after shots were reportedly fired at the Elmvale Acres Shopping Centre.

Emergency crews responded to multiple calls for gunshots just after 8 p.m. Sunday at the mall on St. Laurent Boulevard at Smyth Road, according to paramedics.

Coun. Marty Carr said on Facebook that, “My unofficial understanding is that there were no injuries and the scene is being processed, casings and a bullet hole found.”

In an update at 12:05 a.m., Carr said a shooting was confirmed and the Gun and Gangs Unit is investigating.

An Ottawa Paramedic Service spokesperson told CTV News Ottawa that no injuries were reported.
