Ottawa Senators forward Claude Giroux and his wife have been the victims of a car theft for the second time this season.
Ryanne Giroux posted on social media Thursday morning that their loaner car was stolen from the driveway of the family’s home.
“Good morning to everyone except the people who stole our loaner car…lol,” Giroux said.

Claude Giroux is on a three-game road trip with the Senators, which wraps up Thursday night in Boston against the Bruins. The Senators did not hold a pre-game skate and no players spoke with the media.
The Ottawa Police Service wouldn’t confirm that the Giroux’s vehicle was stolen, but says officers responded to a report of a stolen vehicle at approximately 8:45 a.m.
“The vehicle appears to have been stolen overnight,” police said in a statement to CTV News Ottawa. “The investigation is ongoing.”
In September, the Giroux family woke up to discover their car was stolen.
“@28CGiroux’s car was stolen last night and is currently actively driving… unable to get ahold of @OttawaPolice until 10am… looking for other suggestions/to hear from other people in Ontario who have sadly had to deal with this recently,” Ryanne Giroux said in a post on X.

She later identified the stolen vehicle as a Land Rover.
The Ottawa Police Service’s statistics show 1,645 auto thefts were reported in Ottawa last year, with a total of 1,705 vehicles stolen. Vehicle thefts include joy rides, opportunistic thefts and “single-use crimes.” Police say 951 stolen vehicles were recovered in 2024.
The Ottawa police Crime Map shows 103 vehicles have been reported stolen in Ottawa since New Year’s Day.
