Ottawa police looking to identify person of interest in Vanier fire

The Ottawa Police Service is asking the public for help in identifying a person of interest in relation to a suspicious fire that happened late last year in the neighbourhood of Vanier.

Police say they received a call around 1 a.m. on Dec. 7, 2024 from Ottawa Fire Services reporting a fire in a home located in the 200 block of Cantin Street.

The person of interest was seen near the location of the fire, officers add.

They are described as a white man. At the time, they were seen wearing black pants, black shoes, and a red sweater. They were also wearing a black jacket with yellow trim, and the hood up.

Police believe that this person may have information about the incident, as they may have witnessed what happened.
