It’s been an up and down season for the Ottawa 67’s and their fans, but that didn’t stop thousands of supporters from cheering them on for their final home game of the season.

The 67’s took on the Kingston Frontenacs on Sunday as the team looks to secure a spot in the playoffs.

Rylee Denny says she’s a super fan and has been attending as many games at TD Place as she can every year

“My brother and I have season tickets together, so we come and then a friend of mine comes too, so we all sit in the same areas and we all come together,” Denny said.

While it could be her final game at the arena, she, along with hundreds of fans say they’ll always show their support.

President of the 67’s and Ottawa Redblacks Adrain Sciarra says he is grateful to have such a passionate fanbase.

“It’s great to see such a great turnout, over 4,000 fans here today,” Sciarra said. “As always, we get tremendous support from the community.”

Along with a high stakes game, fans were treated to a St. Patrick’s Day theme, dressing in their best green attire.

“We’re always trying to do fun things for the fans,” Sciarra said. “Today, we got our St. Patty’s Day game with our special St. Patty’s Day jerseys. There’s things going on all throughout the arena, as we try and do for many of our games to add to the fan experience.”

Despite a 3-2 loss in overtime to the Frontenacs, the 67’s picked up a much-needed point in their hunt for a playoff spot.

The team sits two points back from the final spot, trailing the North Bay Battalions with three games left in their schedule.

The 67’s next game is Thursday, March 20 where they will visit the Niagara Ice Dogs.
