The Ontario Provincial Police were busy catching dozens of impaired drivers across eastern Ontario over March Break.
OPP spokesperson Bill Dickson says police charged 41 motorists under the influence between March 10 and 16.
Officers conducted a total of 152 RIDE checks in the region in that time.
In a news release last week, the force reported an increase in the number of impaired drivers so far this year, with a total of 357 drivers having been charged as of March 12, compared to 319 at the same time in 2024.
“We know impaired driving can be deadly. We encourage every driver to consider the potential impact of their actions on their own lives and the lives of everyone else on the road. Never drive impaired,” said OPP chief superintendent Lisa Wilhelm in the release.
OPP are reminding drivers that RIDE checks can happen anytime and anywhere.
Those who suspect someone is driving impaired or who see someone driving dangerously are asked to call 911.
