A brand new, all-Canadian music festival will be held this spring in Calabogie, Ont., about an hour west of downtown Ottawa.
The “Guitars and Gasoline” festival will take place at the Calabogie Motorsports Park June 6 to 8.
Organizers bill it as proudly designed in Canada, featuring an all-Canadian lineup of artists, sponsors, and partners.
“This festival celebrates the bold energy and creativity that make Canada unique,” the festival’s website says. “100% Canadian Classic Rock and Country Music take the stage.”
The lineup includes Blue Rodeo, Josh Ross, and Theory of a Deadman as headliners, with supporting acts such as The Trews, Headstones, Owen Riegling and Alexa Goldie.
“After 18 years of running our world-class facility, we are very excited to finally use our Stadium Track Bowl to its full potential,” said Calabogie Motorsports Park president Marc Steenbakkers in a presale announcement posted to Facebook.
“Hosting a major music festival has always been on our radar to introduce more people to our 15,000+ existing participants and spectators. With our partnership with Ken Craig Productions, the time has come to launch Guitars & Gasoline as an annual event, making full use of our venue’s infrastructure and scenic atmosphere.
Craig said the park’s atmosphere is perfect for a festival.
“The combination of live music, camping, and a stunning outdoor setting will create an experience like no other—giving fans the intimate feeling of watching a concert in their own backyard.”
