Man, 70, killed in western Quebec ATV crash after hitting tree

A 70-year-old man has died from his injuries after colliding with a tree on an all-terrain vehicle in western Quebec Saturday.

Sûreté du Québec (SQ) officers were called to the scene of Chemin Richard at approximately 9 p.m. in the municipality of Alleyn-et-Cawood, about 100 kilometres northwest of Gatineau.

The victim was found in critical condition at the scene. He was taken to hospital where he later died.

An SQ spokesperson says there were no other passengers onboard. The victim was not identified.

Police continue to investigate the cause and circumstances of the crash.
