FlixBus adds Via Rail station as stop for Ottawa passengers

The low-cost intercity bus service FlixBus says it now serves the Ottawa Via Rail station on Tremblay Road.

As of Thursday, travellers can board a bus at the train station or be dropped off there. This is in addition to stops at 500 Terry Fox Dr. in Kanata and at the Gloucester Centre at 1980 Ogilivie Rd.

FlixBus currently connects Ottawa with Toronto, London, Niagara Falls, Windsor, and Detroit, Michigan.

According to its website, FlixBus service in Ottawa starts as early as 6 a.m. and offers multiple trips per day.

“Intercity bus and rail services should work together to provide seamless, accessible and cost-effective travel options. This collaboration with VIA Rail underscores our commitment to delivering affordable, reliable, and convenient travel experience for our customers,” said Karina Frayter, head of corporate affairs at Flix North America in a news release.
