Brockville police say a 31-year-old Cornwall man has been arrested in connection with several recent incidents in the area.
An investigation began at around 7 a.m. Monday when a man threw a rock through the window of a Tim Hortons on Parkedale Avenue. About four hours later, staff at the Tim Hortons said the man had come back and had fallen asleep at a table.
When police arrested the man in connection with the broken window, they said he was found to have been wanted on a warrant for alleged crimes in Cornwall, Ont. and that he was on probation.
Police also claimed he had a butterfly knife on him.
Further investigation led to police accusing the man of also trying to steal a transport truck from the Wills Transfer lot on Parkedale Avenue the same morning. Apparently, the vehicle had been started but got stuck on the property before reaching the road.
The man, whom police did not identify, is charged with theft of a motor vehicle, possession of a prohibited weapon, possession of a weapon contrary to prohibition, mischief under $5,000, and two counts of failing to comply with probation.
