Ontario Provincial Police say a driver on Highway 417 in Ottawa is facing a stunt driving charge after being pulled over on Thanksgiving Monday. The driver was allegedly going 159 km/h on the highway, according to Ottawa OPP Const. Michael Fathi. “A reminder that the legislated speed for stunt driving on a 400 series highway is 150km/h, even in a 110km/h zone,” he wrote in a post on X. The driver received an automatic 30-day licence suspension and a 14-day vehicle impound. If convicted, the driver could receive a minimum of $2,000, six demerit points and a driving suspension of up to one year.
