Cold start to the work week in Ottawa

It is a cold start to the final work week before Christmas vacation for tens of thousands of Ottawa students, but mild temperatures are on the way.

Environment Canada’s forecast calls for a mainly cloudy day with a 70 per cent chance of flurries. High -9 C.

It will be mainly cloudy tonight. Low -12 C with the wind chill making it feel like -18.

Cloudy conditions are expected on Tuesday. High -4 C.

Wednesday will be mainly cloudy with a 60 per cent chance of flurries or showers. High 3 C.

The outlook for Thursday calls for mainly cloudy with a 40 per cent chance of rain. High 5 C.

Friday will see a mix of sun and cloud with a 40 per cent chance of flurries. High -9 C.

The normal temperatures for this time of year are a high of -4 C and a low of -11 C.
