A 61-year-old Mississauga man is facing charges after two stolen vehicles were found in the back of a tractor-trailer during an inspection on Highway 401 in eastern Ontario.
The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) say a Ministry of Transportation officer at the Curry Hill truck inspection station in South Glengarry Township found two vehicles in a sea can on Tuesday.
“Despite the fact that shipping documents indicated it was a load of household items destined for an overseas country,” the OPP said on X.
The two vehicles, a Lexus and a Toyota, had been reported stolen in the Greater Toronto Area.
Two stolen vehicles were recovered on Tuesday (March 4th) on #Hwy401 in South Glengarry Township, near the Ontario/Quebec boundary.

The Ministry of Transportation charged the driver, a 61-year-old man from Mississauga, with having an insecure load.
Police say the driver is also facing two counts of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
“The OPP and MTO continue to work together to locate and seize stolen vehicles being transported on our highways,” the OPP said.
Last month, police found two high-end stolen vehicles in a tractor-trailer during an inspection on Highway 401 near Cornwall.
