Two people from northern Ontario were transported to hospital following an ATV crash Saturday involving a pickup truck in Mattice, Ont. This comes after a tragic ATV season in the northeast.
The two-vehicle collision has resulted in several Highway Traffic Act (HTA) charges, Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) say.
Members of the James Bay OPP detachments responded to the crash on Plamondon Road shortly after 1:30 a.m. on Nov. 18.
“Two persons were transported to a local hospital via ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries,” said police in a news release.
The driver of the ATV, a 29-year-old from Jogues, was charged with driving a non-passenger ATV with a passenger and received a three-day administrative driver's licence suspension.
Both the driver and their 27-year-old passenger from Mattice were also charged with using the ATV without proper helmets.
The 26-year-old from Val Côté who was driving the pickup truck has been charged with careless driving causing bodily harm, failing to remain, failing to report an accident and failing to render assistance.
