The Sudbury Five have officially clinched a spot in the Basketball Super League finals, the first time for the franchise since its inception.
“After trailing 2-1 in the series against the Jamestown Jackals, the Five responded with resilience,” the team said in a news release Monday.

“They secured a crucial Game 4 victory on the road, 103-92, behind a stellar performance from Duane Notice, who delivered a 26-point, 11-rebound double-double to keep the series alive”
In Game 5, the Five beat Jamestown 103-100, with Diego Bernard sinking a dramatic game-winning shot.

JD Miller was consistent throughout the series, averaging 24.4 points and 11.6 rebounds per game, the release said.
Home-court advantage
With their finals berth secured, the Five now await the winner of the KW Titans vs. Windsor Express semifinal. Regardless of the opponent, Sudbury will hold home-court advantage.
Games 1 and 2 will be played at Sudbury Arena on April 17 at 7 p.m. and April 19 at 7 p.m. respectively.
Tickets are available now at the Sudbury Arena box office.

Businesses are encouraged as well to support the Five by displaying ‘GO FIVE GO’ on their signage.
Fans will be able to meet Five players Duane Notice and Diego Bernard, and wish them the best of luck at Greater Sports in the New Sudbury Centre on April 15 from 5-6 p.m.
