Seatbelt stop in Sudbury results in multiple charges

A Sudbury driver is facing multiple charges following a traffic stop initiated by Ontario Provincial Police for a seatbelt violation.

“OPP conducted a traffic stop with a driver who was not wearing a seat belt on Sparks Street (in) Sudbury,” said police in a social media post.

As a result of the investigation on Monday, the 31-year-old motorist was charged with failing to properly wear a seatbelt, failing to surrender their licence, using a plate not authorized for the vehicle, driving a motor vehicle failing to display two plates, operating an unsafe vehicle and operating a motor vehicle without insurance.

“The vehicle was towed at the expense of the owner,” said police.
