A 27-year-old woman in Sault Ste. Marie has been charged with mischief and harassing communications because of repeated calls to a police department in Florida.

A 911 call at 9 a.m. March 23 altered police that someone was “calling a police department in Florida multiple times a day, at all hours of the day, without reason,” police said in a news release Wednesday.

Received a warning

“Officers located the accused and verbally warned them to stop calling the police department as it was interfering with operations. Several hours later, 911 communicators received another report of the accused calling the same police department four more times.”

She was arrested Monday, charged with the two offences and then released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on May 26.
