Sault suspect charged after police find drugs, ammunition and cash

A 29-year-old suspect in Sault Ste. Marie has been charged after police with a search warrant raided an Alexandra Street residence.

Police arrived June 5 at 10:45 a.m., including the drug unit, canine unit and patrol officers.

“The accused was placed under investigative detention and a search of the residence located approximately five grams of suspected cocaine, 171 rounds of ammunition and $4,885 in Canadian currency,” Sault police said in a news release.

“The accused was arrested.”

Charges include drug and ammunition possession and two counts of failure to comply with a probation order.

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 12.
