Detectives with Sault Ste. Marie Police Service are investigating after a house fire on Beverley Street, police spokesperson Lincoln Louttit told CTV News in an email Thursday.

Few details are known about the fire, but firefighters and police were seen at the home -- which has been cordoned off with yellow police caution tape -- Thursday morning.

CTVNewsNorthernOntario.ca video journalist Cory Nordstrom was briefly at the scene Thursday morning and took photos showing a firetruck and police vehicle in front of the brick home.

The yard in front and between the homes on either side is roped off with yellow police caution tape.

Photos also show the front door left wide open and one of the front windows appears to be broken.

Aaron Gravelle, a spokesperson for Sault Fire Services, told CTV News the incident has been turned over to the police department when asked for details.

No details about when or where in the home the fire happened yet.
