Sault police seek public assistance in drug store theft investigation

Sault police and Crime Stoppers ask for help identifying a suspect in a theft at Shoppers Drug Mart on Great Northern Road on January 5, 2025.

Sault police are investigating a recent theft from a local Shoppers Drug Mart location earlier this month.

On Jan. 5, a male suspect stole cologne from the drug store, according to police.

“After evading security through a back door, the suspect fled with a fragrance set valued at $128.99, leaving behind a portion of the stolen items,” said officials with Crime Stoppers of Sault Ste. Marie & Algoma District in a news release.

“The suspect was seen driving a red Chevrolet and was last observed heading south on Great Northern Road.”

Portions of the incident were captured by video surveillance cameras and the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service and Crime Stoppers are requesting the public’s assistance with identifying the suspect.

“Do you recognize this individual,” asked Crime Stoppers.

Anyone with information about the incident or the identity of the suspect is asked to contact Sault police or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
