Sault police seek help with summer arson case

On Aug. 17 at about 2 a.m., an individual at a residence on Avery Road was awakened by the sound of their car alarm.

“They discovered their truck engulfed in flames, with a jerry can of gasoline on the driver’s seat,” said Crime Stoppers, in a news release.

“The vehicle suffered significant damage.”

The organization also said the heat from the blaze caused harm to both a travel trailer on the property and the side of the home.

Police and Crime Stoppers are asking the public for any information related to the incident in hopes of identifying the person(s) responsible.

“If your tip leads to an arrest you may be eligible for a cash reward,” reads the release.
