Ontario Provincial Police were on the scene Monday afternoon of a fatal collision involving a snowmobile on Highway 101 at Adam Lake Road, approximately 30 kilometres, east of Chapleau.

OPP and Manitoulin-Sudbury Paramedic Services responded to the collision at about 11:40 a.m. on March 17.
OPP confirmed Tuesday that a 59 years-old from Tiny Township died at the scene as a result of the collision, .
Police said Highway 101 between Brunswick House First Nation and Foleyet was closed for about six hours as investigators dealt with the scene.

No detours were provided by OPP or the Ministry of Transportation.
The roadway reopened at about 8 p.m. according to the the ministry’s 511 Traveller Information Service.

“Further information will be released as it becomes available,” said OPP in a news release.
