Ontario Provincial Police charged a 26-year-old Elliot Lake man with dangerous and impaired driving on Highway 17 in Mississauga First Nation community. At around 11:15 p.m. on Oct. 30, police observed a westbound vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed and initiated a traffic stop near MacIver Drive, police said in a news release Monday. “Officers determined the driver had consumed alcohol, and the individual was subsequently arrested for impaired driving.” The vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days, while the man’s driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days. The man is scheduled to in Elliot Lake court Dec. 3.
