OPP lay impaired charge on Hwy. 400 near Parry Sound

Ontario Provincial Police have charged a 47-year-old driver from London, Ont., following a traffic stop early Sunday morning on Highway 400.

Police say officers on general patrol observed a vehicle travelling below the speed limit and weaving out of its lane at about 2 a.m. on April 12.

The stop occurred on Highway 400 in Seguin Township, west of Parry Sound.

The driver was charged with two impaired driving offences, including operation with a blood alcohol concentration exceeding 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood.

In addition to the charges, the motorist’s driver’s licence was automatically suspended for 90 days and the vehicle involved was impounded for seven days.

The accused is scheduled to appear in court in Parry Sound on May 21.
