Man in North Bay hospital with life-threatening injuries after assault

Police in North Bay say an assault sent one person to hospital. In the Sault, two were arrested for assault at the Algoma treatment centre.

North Bay police are investigating an early morning assault that sent one person to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Emergency crews responded to a call about a man with serious injuries on Lovell Avenue around 4:30 a.m., police said in a news release.

He was found in the 0-100 block between Lakeshore Drive and Karla Drive then transported to hospital.

“Police are investigating this incident as an assault. At this time, no arrests have been made,” police said.

“Police do not believe there is an immediate threat to public safety but encourage the public to practice caution and heightened awareness until an arrest is made.”

Investigators are interested in speaking to anyone with information about the incident and are looking for dash and security camera footage from the area between 3 and 6 a.m.
