Ontario Provincial Police say they have arrested a fourth individual in connection with a major drug bust in Elliot Lake's south end.

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested a fourth individual in connection with a significant drug bust in Elliot Lake.

The latest arrest occurred on Feb. 20, when a 36-year-old man from North York was taken into custody in Toronto.

The investigation began earlier this month when OPP executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act warrant at a residence on Frobel Drive in Elliot Lake on Feb. 6.

“Police seized more than 2300 grams of illicit drugs, cash, packaging, cutting and cooking materials, digital scales, vacuum sealer, blender and pepper spray,” OPP said in a news release.

The estimated street value of the drugs seized exceeds $460,000.

Three individuals were initially arrested and charged with multiple offences following the warrant execution. A fourth arrest warrant was subsequently issued, leading to the apprehension of the North York man.

The 36-year-old faces four charges, including drug trafficking and producing opioids. He was held pending a bail hearing in Toronto on Friday.
