Driver of ditched vehicle in northern Ont. charged with impaired

A 37-year-old from Moose Factory has been charged with impaired driving following a morning incident last weekend.

Around 8:30 a.m. March 15, the James Bay Ontario Provincial Police responded to a report of a pickup truck stuck in the ditch on David Wynne Drive in Moosonee.

“Officers determined the driver had consumed alcohol,” police said in a news release Tuesday.

The suspect was charged with driving while impaired by alcohol.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on May 13 in Moosonee.
