The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service has advised they have closed down the area of Woodward Avenue between Queen Street East and Wellington Street East due to a fire.
“There is currently an active fire on Woodward Avenue,” police said in a news release shortly after 2:15 p.m. on Sunday.
“Community members are urged to take alternate routes if travelling in the area.”
Officials have not released any details on the cause of the fire, the extent of any damage or if there are any injuries at this time.
