If you ride an off-road vehicle in B.C.'s backcountry there are new rules and regulations to know about.

Starting November 1st all off-road vehicle's operating on Crown Land must be registered with license plates or registration stickers.

It will also be mandatory to wear a helmet and children must be supervised and riding an appropriate sized vehicle.

Voluntary registration has been in place since November of last year and since then over 35,000 users have registered.

The program is integrated with the existing ICBC structure, the combined cost of the number plate and registration fee is $48.
