A 34-year-old man has died after being stabbed in Montreal’s Hochelaga neighbourhood early Friday morning.
Montreal police (SPVM) received a 911 call at 12:50 a.m. about the incident near de Rouen and Dézéry streets in the Mercier-Hochelaga-Maisonneuve borough.
When officers arrived on the scene, they located the victim a few blocks away near Ontario and Saint-Germain streets.
He was taken to hospital, where he remains in critical condition. Later in the morning police confirmed that he died as a result of his injuries.
It is the fifth homicide in Montreal in 2025.
There have been no arrests.
An investigation is ongoing to determine the circumstances leading up to the stabbing.
