An investigation is underway after a vehicle was set on fire in the borough of Montreal North early Friday morning.

Montreal police received a 911 call at 2:15 a.m. about the incident on Albert-Hudon Boulevard near Maurice-Duplessis Boulevard.

“When they [the officers] took over the fire [from the fire department], a few elements led them to believe it was criminal,” said Raphaël Bergeron, a spokesperson with Montreal police.

The vehicle has been towed for expert examination.

There have been no arrests, and the file has been transferred to the Montreal police arson squad.
