Montrealers woke up to a real taste of winter weather this morning.
The day began with a temperature of -3 C and 2 centimetres of snow - making the total of snow 11.6 centimetres on the island this March.

According to Environment Canada, average snowfall for the area is typically 37.1 centimetres for the month.
While the mercury is expected to reach a high of 4 C on Monday afternoon, those in the area can expect to see even more light snow on Tuesday.
A daytime high of 5 C is expected for the second day of the workweek, as morning snow shifts to showers on Tuesday afternoon.

However, Montrealers can look forward to the sun’s resurgence as Wednesday approaches.
Mixes of sun and clouds should stick from Wednesday through to Saturday with daytime highs trending down from 6 C to 1 C.
