Montreal Victoire’s Erin Ambrose, Hayley Scamurra moving to Las Vegas

The new Las Vegas team in the PWHL announced Monday that it has signed two players from the Montreal Victoire: defender Erin Ambrose and forward Hayley Scamurra.

Ambrose signed a two-year contract, running through the end of the 2027-2028 season, while Scamurra signed a three-year deal, running through the end of the 2028-2029 season.

The duo is heading to Las Vegas after helping the Victoire win the Walter Cup last month.

In her third season in the PWHL, Ambrose recorded six assists in 21 regular-season games and two assists in nine playoff games. Originally selected sixth overall in the first round of the PWHL’s inaugural draft by the Victoire, the 32-year-old has played 73 games with the Montreal team, recording 37 points, including four goals.

A native of Keswick, Ont., her plus-24 rating is the best in PWHL history for a defender. Named Defender of the Year in 2024 and a member of the First All-Star Team that same year, she has represented Canada on the international stage, winning medals at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan-Cortina (silver) and the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing (gold).

Scamurra played a pivotal role in the Victoire’s Walter Cup victory, racking up four points—including two goals—in nine playoff games. She played in all 30 of the Victoire’s regular-season games, recording a career-high 16 points, including eight goals.

A native of Buffalo, N.Y., the 31-year-old has 29 points, including 14 goals, in 79 career games and has added five points, including three goals, in two playoff runs with the Victoire and the Toronto Sceptres.
