A teacher at an elementary school in Longueuil, on Montreal’s South Shore, is facing charges of luring after he allegedly sent explicit messages to at least one child online.
Kyle Le Huquet, 37, was arrested by Longueuil police (SPAL) on Feb. 27 in the borough of Saint-Hubert.
“Le Huquet was apprehended following a report of computer luring originating in the U.K. via the cyberaide.ca website,” Longueuil police notes. “During his virtual conversations with his underage victim, Le Huquet exchanged sexual photographs with her.”
Le Huquet apparently confided to the teenager that he was a teacher, leading the force to identify and arrest him.
According to Longueuil police, he was known online by the following usernames: thebizzoman, bizzo and bizzo8.
The force says Le Huquet had a presence on Snapchat and Instagram, as well as other sites.
“The ongoing investigation so far shows that the suspect may have lured other victims as young as 13,” Longueuil police notes. “He would have also communicated with young girls in both French and English, in Quebec and around the world.”
Le Huquet appeared in court last week and remains in custody.
He is expected to appear again at the Longueuil courthouse on March 6 for a bail hearing.
Longueuil police is asking anyone with information to contact investigators at 450-463-7211.
