sawatsky 16x9

Adam Sawatsky has been a producer, reporter, and anchor at CTV News Vancouver Island for more than 20 years.

He currently hosts the local Arts and Entertainment segment on CTV News at 5 and produces the "Sawatsky Sign-Off" segment for CTV News at 6 and 11.

When he’s not appearing on screen, Adam spends his days randomly driving around Vancouver Island searching for stories about ordinary people doing extraordinary things. He shoots, writes, and edits the "Sign-Off" stories.

His feature stories have won more than a dozen regional, national, and international RTDNA broadcasting awards including three Edward R. Murrow awards.

Adam has also been a columnist for Monday Magazine, a theatre reviewer for CBC Radio, and the host/producer of the long-running "Eye on the Arts" program on CFAX 1070.

Before he embarked on his adventures in broadcasting, Adam worked as a professional actor and graphic designer, after attending St. Michaels University School and the University of Victoria.

Away from work, Adam serves a board member for Santas Anonymous and relishes spending time in and around Vancouver Island’s oceans, forests, and mountains with his wife Cheryl and sons, Liam and Owen.
