Witnesses say an apparent case of road rage in downtown Victoria left a man bloodied and bruised Wednesday morning.
The ugly incident happened just after 11 a.m. near the corner of Vancouver Street at Yates Street outside of the Harris Green shopping centre.
A fight broke out between two men after one accused the other of blocking a driveway with his truck, according to witnesses.
The dust-up lasted for a few minutes before bystanders stepped in to separate the men.
“Saw the two gentlemen on the ground so I went over to intervene,” said witness Andrew Smith. “The gentleman who owns the truck…he had the other gentleman on the ground in a choke hold and his lips were going blue.”
One of the men in the fight was visibly shaken up and paramedics took him away on a stretcher.
Victoria police have so far not released any information about the incident.
