Police in Victoria are looking for witnesses after a man was stabbed near city hall early Thursday morning.

Officers were called to Centennial Square around 4:15 a.m. for a report of a 38-year-old man suffering from a stab wound.

Paramedics transported him to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police are still investigating a stabbing that occurred in the 800-block of Burdett Avenue in the tent city encampment at the Victoria courthouse early Tuesday

A suspect has not been arrested in either incident and police are asking any witnesses to come forward.

Correction: An earlier version of this story incorrectly reported that the latest incident was the seventh assault in seven days in Victoria, according to data on CrimeReports.com. The assault was only the second serious attack to take place in the downtown core within a week, Victoria Police say.
