A car became lodged underneath a semi-trailer truck in a collision that shut down part of the Pat Bay Highway Thursday afternoon.

The incident shut down a stretch of southbound lanes between Quadra Street and McKenzie Avenue, according to Drive BC.

Traffic was diverted at the Quadra Street off-ramp as crews assessed the scene.

Drive BC confirmed just after 4:30 p.m. that the crash scene had been cleared and traffic would resume, but drivers should expect heavy delays due to congestion.

It’s unclear whether any drivers involved suffered injuries in the crash, but pictures from the scene showed a white Honda sedan trapped under the trailer, in front of its rear wheels.

The car was later seen being towed away with a crushed roof.
