A large police presence in a Victoria neighbourhood on Wednesday was linked to a man wanted on outstanding warrants in three provinces, according to VicPD.

Police were called to a house in the 2600-block of Shelbourne Street around 6 p.m.

Officials say 32-year-old Jason Krause has been charged with assault and theft under $5,000 and is currently wanted by police.

He also has outstanding warrants in Alberta and Saskatchewan, police say.

The Greater Victoria Emergency Response Team was deployed to the house on Wednesday to take Krause into custody safely. Officers later determined he wasn’t inside the house.

Krause is described as Caucasian, 5’9”, 170 pounds, has blond hair, blue eyes and a sleeve tattoo on his right arm.

Anyone who sees Krause should not approach him and call 911.
