A school-aged child who cannot be identified told the court in detail that they visited a suspected drug lab several times at Tuesday’s proceedings in London.

The lab on Commissioners Road East in south London was pegged at $8 million in value, and was raided by police in April 2023.

Testifying from an area away from the courtroom the child told the judge about, “Cigars made out of weed.”

The court also heard testimony about the child seeing machines, white powder and dark sticky syrup.

The young witness wasn’t sure what the substances were, but was aware that they were illegal.

The evidence is all part of the case against a 32 year old London man and his former defence lawyer.

Donovan Wendt and his one-time lawyer Felice Ferri, 48, face a total of about 20 charges including trafficking, possession of restricted firearms, and exposing a minor to a drug lab.

The charges are alleged to have occurred between October 2021 and April 2023.

Both men have pleaded not guilty.

The trial is now into its second week.
