Weekend weather looking a little unsettled in the region

The forecast looks a little unsettled as we head into the weekend. Julie Atchison has the forecast.

A mainly cloudy start to Friday in the London region with the winds today out of the southwest.

We’ll see some guests as we head through the day tracking a cold front that will slip through and that could spark a thunderstorm.

“Your Friday just it will be a bit unsettled with a chance of a spotty shower with a forecast high at 17,” said CTV News London Meteorologist, Julie Atchison.

There will also be some very light rainfall toward Elgin County — just a few very sparse showers and then heading into the afternoon.

There is also the chance of a little thunderstorm developing in and around Port Stanley.

According to Atchison, the weekend also looks unsettled.

“We’ll see a few showers off to the south southwest towards Chatham as we head into Saturday morning. We should get away with mainly rain free day on Saturday, but there is a chance for some light rainfall as we head into a Sunday.”

In midwestern Ontario, Atchison said she is not expecting a whole lot in the way of rain this weekend.

“You should see some breaks of sunshine, especially in areas northern Huron-Perth, Grey and Bruce counties, and a mix of some cloud Saturday into Sunday,” she said.

Friday Night: Partly cloudy. Becoming cloudy near midnight with 60 percent chance of showers overnight. Wind north 20 km/h gusting to 40 becoming light near midnight. Low 7.

Saturday: Mainly cloudy. 60 per cent chance of showers early in the morning. Wind becoming northeast 20 km/h gusting to 40 in the morning. High 15.

Sunday: Cloudy with 60 per cent chance of showers. High 14.

Monday: Cloudy with 30 per cent chance of showers. High 16.

Tuesday: Cloudy with 30 per cent chance of showers. High 15.
