Lambton County Archives in Wyoming, Ont. is set to offer vault tours in celebration of Archives Awareness Week.
On April 9, you are invited for the drop-in tours at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m. You will learn how history is preserved.
“These tours are a chance to share behind-the-scenes work that we do here at the Archives to preserve historical records for generations to come,” said Nicole Aszalos, archivist and supervisor of Lambton County Archives.
“Visitors will discover how we store and care for our records and learn some of the fascinating stories hidden within our collection.”
During the tours, visitors will go inside secure storage areas, learning about specialized techniques to safeguard the materials inside from deterioration. Staff will also share stories about the collection.
The tours are completely free, and no registration is required.
