The Thames Valley District School Board is cutting almost 60 jobs in an effort to save money.
The board has indicated that 59 learning support services positions will be eliminated in June.
Officials say teachers who were working in those roles will have the opportunity for other jobs across the board including in classrooms.
This is following the slashing of dozens of high school teaching positions at the end of last year, due to lower than expected enrollment at area schools.
At the time, the elimination of 33 teaching jobs was reported to clock in at roughly $2 million in savings.
The embattled board is facing a deficit of almost $17 million, and in an interview with CTV News in December, Interim Director of Education Bill Tucker indicated that the board was looking at revenue generation opportunities, including the sale of surplus properties.
