A London courtroom heard that when his body was discovered in Gibbons Park on Nov. 6, 2022, Daniel Fawcett, 52, the one-time guitarist with the rock band Helix, was found with a stab wound to the heart.
“When I was called out, I was told that it was a stabbing,” said Det.-Const. Stephen Robertson, who testified about being one of the first at the scene.
While on the stand, he said that phone records indicate Fawcett was at the park in the early morning hours to meet someone.
Days later, Craig Allan, 50, would be arrested out of town and charged with second-degree murder. He has pleaded not guilty.
Another person has already pleaded guilty for their involvement in the case.
This trial, which started earlier on Monday, is slated to last three weeks.
