Pedestrian dies after getting struck by vehicle: Oxford County OPP

Oxford County OPP say a pedestrian has died following a collision involving a passenger vehicle.

On Saturday at 10:45 p.m., police responded to a collision on Highway 19 in South-West Oxford Township.

The investigation determined that a pedestrian was struck on the stretch of road between Keswick Road and Ostrander Road.

Police say a 61-year-old resident from South-West Oxford Township was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries and was later pronounced deceased.

The driver of the vehicle reported no injuries.

The road was closed for several hours to facilitate the investigation but has since re-opened.

The Oxford OPP with the assistance of West Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) Team continue to investigate the collision.
