“The Secret To Good Tea” is coming to the Grand Theatre, CTV London’s Nick Paparella scoped it out.

The latest production at the Grand Theatre in London takes a bold, loving and funny look at the relationship between a mother and daughter while delving into their Indigenous lives – past and present.

Michelle Bardach plays the part of a radio host named Gwynn, who is going through marital strife. She said, “Obviously there’s is a lot of trauma in Indigenous history, but we try to keep things light as well and there’s moments of tenderness.”

The mother, Maggie, is played by Marsha Knight, who said ultimately, the play is about love and connection, “It’s definitely about love. It’s about love that through the history of the residential schools has been suppressed.”

Both actors say by the end of the performance they hope the audience leaves with a better understanding.

“It’s about perseverance and that fact that it’s never too late to find your way back to love.” added Bardach.

The Secret to Good Tea is on now at the main stage at the Grand until March 8.
