Easter weekend forecast ‘not a wash,’ but keep that umbrella handy Friday

The forecast for the long weekend is looking warm, but a little wet. CTV London Meteorologist Julie Atchison explains.

The forecast for the long weekend is looking warm, but a little wet.

“Some showers and thunderstorms to start your Friday. The risk will diminish as we head through the day,” explained CTV London Meteorologist Julie Atchison. “Still a slight chance for some unsettled conditions [Friday] afternoon.”

Atchison says Friday’s temperatures will be above seasonal – feeling like late May to early June conditions.

“Daytime highs are set to climb into the upper teens – low 20s,” said Atchison.

Come Saturday morning, a cold front will move into the area, bringing with it another round of showers.

“But this weekend is definitely not a wash,” she said. “Just a couple fronts to get through, but lots of dry time to get outside and enjoy! Sunday is looking absolutely fantastic.”

Friday: Mainly cloudy. 30 per cent chance of showers changing to 70 per cent chance of showers or thunderstorms in the morning and then to 30 per cent chance of showers in the afternoon. Friday night: Mainly cloudy with 30 per cent chance of showers. Showers beginning before morning. Risk of a thunderstorm in the evening and overnight. Wind southwest 20 km/h gusting to 40 becoming light near midnight. Wind becoming southwest 20 after midnight. Low 15.

Saturday: Cloudy with 40 per cent chance of showers. High 16.

Sunday: A mix of sun and cloud. High 13.

Monday: Cloudy with 60 per cent chance of showers. High 14.

Tuesday: A mix of sun and cloud. High 16.
