Cold front brings rain, snow, high Winds

Julie Atchison has the latest forecast for the London region.

There’s a sharp cold front moving through the region, bringing rainfall and snow showers.

Strong gusty winds are also part of the front, gusting upwards of 70 km/h as we head through the late afternoon into the early evening.

“Now the temperatures are dropping off with this latest round of precipitation, and we have snow flurries in the forecast as we head into the latter half of the day,” said CTV News London Meteorologist Julie Atchison.

“In and around London, could see a couple centimeters and a chance for flurries continuing tonight,” she added.

Parts of midwestern Ontario, including gray and Bruce County, could see about five centimeters of snowfall.

Temperature wise, tomorrow will still be a little bit below normal.

“This cold blast of air sets up shop just for a bit, and temperatures will average below normal over the next couple of days. So we’ll start your Wednesday with some morning flurries, but breaking into a mix of sun and cloud, the high five degrees, lots of sunshine in the forecast,” said Atchison.

Tuesday Night: Flurries. Local amount 2 to 4 cm. Wind northwest 30 km/h gusting to 60. Low zero.

Wednesday: Cloudy. 40 per cent chance of flurries in the morning. Becoming a mix of sun and cloud in the afternoon. Wind northwest 30 km/h gusting to 50. High plus 5.

Thursday: Sunny. High 11.

Friday: Cloudy with 60 per cent chance of showers. Windy. High 22.

Saturday: Cloudy with 40 per cent chance of showers. High 14.

Sunday: A mix of sun and cloud. High 12.
