A Guelph teen is facing assault and weapons charges after anotheryouth was threatened with a knife at Stone Road Mall.
It happened in the food court at around 5:30 p.m. on Saturday.
According to police, the victim was approached by another teen who pushed them into a chair and struck them in the face three times.
“The assailant then pulled a black-handled knife from his pants and held it towards the victim,” police said in a media release. “The victim was able to flee and the suspect ran away after learning police had been called.”
A 15-year-old Guelph boy was later arrested his home.
He is charged with assault, assault with a weapon, possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose, carrying a concealed weapon and wearing a disguise with intent to commit an offence.
